K-Gr 2-Attractive photographs combine with simple text, resulting in nonfiction for the youngest readers. Each spread features two to four sentences of very brief information. Copious white space and a large font make the reading experience easy on budding readers, while the simple back matter will introduce students to nonfiction text features. These titles necessarily simplify complex topics-Rosa Parks also introduces the civil rights movement, for instance-but they are ideal for the target audience.
