Bestseller Foster (A Perfect Storm) takes another turn with her reliable romantic suspense formula in the debut of her Love Undercover series. Nothing can stop Det. Logan Riske from getting justice for the murder of his best friend. Certain that villainous club owner Morton Andrews is behind it, the only witness to the crime, Rowdy Yates, is reluctant to give evidence. Logan gets a bead on Rowdy’s sister, Pepper, and goes undercover as her new neighbor to get closer to her and eventually her overprotective brother. What Logan doesn’t anticipate is the intense and unyielding attraction between himself and Pepper. Content to be alone, Pepper tries to resist the advances of her seductive new neighbor, but can’t deny the passion she feels. Thanks to Foster’s skillful storytelling, the chemistry between Pepper and Logan adds to the suspense, even though the love scenes occasionally threaten to overtake the thriller story.
